Church Planting

Someone once wisely said, "The health of a church is not in its seating capacity but its sending capacity". The church needs to rediscover itself. Most Christians in America have a perspective of a successful church based primarily on size. Unfortunately, size rarely equates to health although there are exceptions. However, the biblical picture of success is based on the multiplication of followers of Christ and churches (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; 14:19-23).

Willie O'burke being commissioned by MVC to plant Windsor Community Church - Summer of 2001One of our core values is planting churches, and we firmly believe this is the blueprint established in the Scriptures for the fulfillment of the Great Commission.

God is adding people to our church family from every walk of life. Yet, we want to do all we can to avoid getting large simply by the transfer of Christians from other churches in the community. We want to see people transformed not transferred -- Transformed into a passionate, purposeful individual who loves God and loves others. This is the type of growth we are committed to. God may very well have us grow to become a very large church, but if that happens we believe it would only be so that we can more effectively multiply followers of Christ, small groups and churches.

Since the first Crossway Chapel (Mountain View Community Church) was birthed in April of 1993, the Crossway Chapel network has grown to eight churches, with the two to four more starting up this year!

We are convinced that this movement of dynamic multiplying churches has only just begun and we are confident God will open up doors for this network of churches to spread throughout the United States and the world. Check out all of the Crossway Chapel Churches. God is moving and it is a joy and privilege to be a part! Would you prayerfully consider joining us!
