INFANTS - 3RD GRADE
CW KIDS is Crossway's children's ministry and our aim is to partner with parents to make Christ known and loved in their homes.

WHEN YOU ARRIVE
Upon arriving at church, please visit the CW KIDS check in station. There will be a CONNECT Team representative present to point you in the right direction. If you are visiting for the first time, a CW Kids leader will assist you in checking your children in.
ALL children who will be utilizing CW KIDS classrooms and nursery care are required to have been checked in a given name tag.
Please ensure your phone number is entered correctly and printed on the tag as this is how we will contact you if your child has a need during the service.
Please keep your phone on vibrate during the service.
after you sign in
Infants - 4 Year Olds can be checked into their classes 10 minutes before service begins.
5 Years - 3rd grade classes will be dismissed to class after worship. We encourage parents to bring their children to the fellowship hall to ensure every child is where they need to be.
PICKING UP YOUR CHILD
When checking in your child you will also receive a security tag. You must present this tag when pick up your child after the service. You are free to give your security tag to another person (16 or older) to pick up your child. We are very careful to release a child only to the person with the correct security tag. You are responsible for who has your child’s security tag.
The security tag is duplicated so that it can be torn in half, allowing parents to simultaneously pick up multiple children.
If you lose your security tag, please make your way to the check in station and another one can be reprinted for you.
Please consider those volunteering in the classrooms and pick up your children immediately after services before you begin fellowshipping with others.
CW Kids CLASSROOMs
Each classroom (3yrs - 3rd grade) utilizes the following elements:
Bible Lesson: Each age appropriate lesson follows our three year Sunday school curriculum, Gospel Story Curriculum. Beginning in the Old Testament and working all the way through the New Testament, children will take a look at how each of the Bible stories connect to the gospel and to God’s larger plan of redemption and salvation. Lessons are adapted to the specific learning level of the child.
Scripture Memory: We believe that it is important to teach children how to hide God’s word in our heart through memorization of scripture. Each month, classes will be memorizing a new Bible verse, according to their learning level. We challenge parents to join their children in hiding God’s word in their heart too!
Music: Our music is designed to exalt the person and work of God through Scripture-saturated lyrics, age-appropriate instrumentation, and engaging hand motions.
Catechesis: We use a communal approach to teach the core doctrines of the faith through a series of questions and answers. Parents can follow along at home by downloading the New City Catechism app for free as we work towards the memorization of one question/ answer each month.
Object Lesson/ Crafts: These activities are designed to capture the attention of each child while providing depth to their Bible Lesson.
Playtime: For younger children, there is a specific time set aside to play. This allows the children’s energy to be channeled in a proper way and helps make the rest of the classroom time more productive.
Snack: Plain cheerios are provided for all children 1 Yr - 3rd Grade. These are gluten free, however, if a parent prefers for their child not to receive a snack, simply inform the Sunday school teacher of your desire. At times we will offer a special snack associated with the Bible lesson.
Bathroom Break: These are as needed. We ask that parents have their children use the bathroom before class starts to keep as little disruptions in the class time as possible. If you have any questions about our bathroom policy, please reach out to CWKIDS@crosswaywilmington.org.
The CW Kids leadership team sends out a monthly newsletter with the memory verses, upcoming lessons and catechism Q&A for the month.
OUR VOLUNTEERS
CW Kids is staffed by passionate and gifted volunteers who have gone through a background check and appropriate training to ensure your kiddos are safe and loved well while they are with us!
Our volunteers’ goal is to partner alongside parents by freeing them up to attend service where they are fed and encouraged and by proclaiming the gospel and showing the love of Jesus to each child.
