Chili KickOff

Chili KickOff

Did you hear the news?! Two of our beloved annual events are now becoming one! Formerly the Chili Cook Off + Turkey Bowl... now have become the CHILI KICK-OFF!

Join us on Sunday, November 24th on the UNCW Intramural Fields for a fun time of sports (football y futbol) followed by a competitive chili cook off!  It is the best time of the year... cool weather... sports... yummy chili... and some healthy competition!

Here's what's different this year:
There are two kinds of chili. COMPETITION CHILI & COMMUNITY CHILI. There will only be 15 spots for those wishing to compete in the competition. This makes it much easier for the judges not to have to taste so many chili's and keeps the competition's integrity in tact!

Then there will be community chili - food to feed the crowd! If you're just looking for a good time & want to bring food to share with others, this is the category for you :)

*You only have to sign up for competition chili.*

There are only 15 spots for the competition!! Sign up today to secure your spot & hopefully take home the trophy!!!

Schedule of Events:

4pm Football y futbol - healthy, co-ed competition!!
5:30 pm Chili competition begins & people are invited to enjoy chili!

Notes on location & parking:

The fields are on the corner of Riegel & Hamilton, adjacent to the Brooks Field Baseball Stadium. You can park along Riegel Rd & in the Visitors Lot (M Lot) on campus.

On May 19th, immediately following the service, Kevin Bell will be hosting an interest meeting regarding PORCH-Wilmington.  If you've been looking for a way to connect more with your neighbors, this is a great opportunity.

Please reach out to Kevin Bell at Bell.kevincharles@gmail.com with any questions.

More about PORCH - PORCH mobilizes and supports local volunteers to create sustainable hunger relief programs in their own communities. Logistically, this looks like organizing and collecting food donations from your neighbors on a monthly basis and delivering the donations to Mother Hubbard's Cupboard. It's a practical way to be the hands and feet of Christ and a great way to begin relationships with neighbors you might not know well. More information: https://porchcommunities.org/wilmington-nc
